The goal of 2019’s AMA campaign, Renew a Pew, was to raise $150,000, with the first $50,000 going to diocesan ministries. This successful campaign had more donors and raised a larger amount than any other parish in our diocese.
If you looked closely at the pews, you would have seen that, with the passing of the years, they suffered some neglect. Some cried out for a new coat of varnish. Others have been the recipients of initials carved into the wood.
The pews were not discarded, but rather fully restored. They were stripped down to the wood and repaired where necessary, followed by a total re‐varnish. In addition, they were enhanced with seat cushions, providing comfort to future generations of church-goers.
