2024 | Blessed Sacrament Chapel: A Place of Prayer and Peace

ANNUAL MINISTRY APPEAL
The Mission’s weekday masses take place in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, where we also pray the Holy Rosary for vocations, offer Adoration to Our Savior, and hold weekly confession. The chapel is truly a place of prayer and peace. However, time has taken its toll. To ensure the chapel remains accessible and comfortable for everyone, we're embarking on a renovation project. This year's Annual Mission Appeal (AMA) campaign will focus on raising $300,000 to address these critical needs. The first $71,000 raised will directly support our vital diocesan ministries.
The Blessed Sacrament Chapel is more than just a building; it's a testament to faith and dedication. Built by Harry Downie between 1945 and 1947, it stands on the very ground where the original padres once toiled in their kitchen and blacksmith shop. This historic space, constructed of unreinforced adobe, offers 1,842 square feet of sacred refuge. Focusing on the chapel during this year of Eucharistic Revival has a special significance. We walk in the footsteps of our beloved founder, Saint Junipero, protecting our illustrious heritage and preserving it for future generations.
