2020 | Heavenly Sounds

ANNUAL MINISTRY APPEAL

The objective of the 2020 AMA, Heavenly Sounds, was to enhance the sound in our Basilica. The first $50,000 raised through this appeal went to our diocese, and any amount above and beyond that came back to the Mission to achieve the appeal’s goals.

Our wonderful choir, cantors, and musicians add so much to our liturgies and help us raise our minds and hearts to God. We also have music events throughout the year, including the Bach Festival. It is has been our intention to develop our music ministry and to add events to our musical calendar.

A major component of our music at the Mission is our wonderful Casavant organ. This beautiful instrument adds so much to our many liturgies. The time came when our Casavant organ required immediate attention during continued use. A portion of our Heavenly Sounds campaign was used to replace all the electrical and computer components, which are totally out of date. We engaged the makers of our organ, Casavant Frères, in Quebec, Canada, to repair the internal mechanics of the organ.

Thanks once again to the generous support of our parishioners, we at Carmel Mission are able to continue creating those Heavenly Sounds.
