Pastor’s Weekly Message 10-7-18

Dear Friends of Carmel Mission,

As I’ve mentioned to you recently, we at Carmel Mission are dedicating the month of October to prayer for healing. We live in a society that craves for healing. All healing comes from God.

When we inflict wounds on others, by our thoughts, our words or our actions, we are doing the devils’ work. Satan seeks division and discord, because when a house is divided, it is more likely to fall.

Our country needs healing, as does our Church. We will ultimately have to answer for our action or lack of action in regard to the current deep divisions in society and Church.

At a personal level, we are called to pray for healing. As the Body of Christ, we are coming together to pray for healing.

On Wednesday, October 17th, 2018, we will celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick at 7:00pm in our beautiful Basilica. This powerful Sacrament invokes the healing powers of the Holy Spirit.

I invite you to participate in this Sacrament of Healing and to bring along a neighbor or friend who may be sick or unable to get to church on a regular basis.

Each person who receives the Anointing will greatly benefit from it.
