Dear Friends in Christ,
As we begin the Season of Lent, I ask myself whatever happened to my New Year resolutions? Just how much weight did I promise myself to lose? I dare not go near the weighing scale! But our God is always giving us second chances, and so here comes Lent again, a liturgical season during which we prepare ourselves to celebrate the great and joyful feast of Easter.
The tried and trusted ways offered to us by our Church, are Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving ( or reaching out to assist those in need), all help us to draw closer to God during this season of repentance and conversion.
I invite you to join us here at the Mission for our prayerful Taize Service at 7:00pm on Wednesday evenings and our series of video presentations featuring the lives of six prominent Catholics, and presented on video by Bishop Robert Barron, each Tuesday evening at 6:30pm.
