Dear Friends of Carmel Mission,
Thanks to your generosity, we had the most successful AMA campaign ever, here at Carmel Mission in 2018. We had the largest percentage of participants of all the parishes in our Diocese.
All of you who contributed, enabled us to support so many valuable ministries in our Diocese to the tune of $50,000 (which is the goal set for us by the Diocese this year also).
But your gift back to your parish meant that we were able to install a state-of-the-art, beautiful new kitchen in Crespi Parish Hall. Members of our many ministries, who use Crespi, have commented on how delighted they are to be able to use this wonderful, bright and sparkling kitchen.
This weekend we commence our 2019 AMA Campaign. Our goal is to raise enough funds to enable us to completely renew the pews in our Basilica. If you examine them, you will notice that many of them are in need of a new coat of varnish. Some others have been the recipients of carved graffiti! We want to ensure that our pews will continue to serve us well for at least another century.
Many of our parishioners now carry a cushion to Church, to assist their worship.
It is becoming such common practice now, that members of our neighboring churches have been heard to comment: “Oh look, honey, another Catholic couple, carrying their cushions”
To make it a more comfortable worship experience, we will have upholstered seats on each pew.
It’s over to you, please join us and help “Renew a Pew”, so that you can leave your cushion at home on your sofa.
