Pastor’s Weekly Message 3-10-19

Dear Friends of Carmel Mission,

It has been some years since we have had a Lenten Mission. Many parishioners have been requesting such, and I’m delighted to announce that we will begin our “Mission at the Mission“ on Monday, March 11, 2019, at 7:00pm in the Basilica. It will continue until Wednesday evening. Why not join us for what promises to be a very inspiring and challenging start to our Lenten Season?

Our Mission Director, Fr. Matthew Guckin, comes to us from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, where he is responsible for Priestly Identity and Mission. He has directed numerous parish missions. Fr. Matt is visiting with us here in Carmel in order to research the spiritual life of St. Junipero. I have requested that he take special note of the Saint’s own words. We hope to gain many more insights into the inner life of St. Junipero, as a result of this research.

You will find more details of our three day Mission at the Mission on our Bulletin cover, and on our website.

On the Tuesday evening, March 12, after Fr. Matt’s talk, there will be an opportunity for us to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance, with six priests available for individual Confessions.

Please spread the good news about our Mission at the Mission among your family, friends and neighbors. It promises to be a special Triduum of renewal of our faith, reconciliation with our loving God and with each other, and enjoying the true freedom of God’s beloved children.

I invite you to join us, and I look forward to seeing you here for our Mission at the Mission.

Lenten Blessings to you all,

Fr. Paul

Pastor at Carmel Mission
