Pastor’s Weekly Message 3-29-20

Dear Friend of Carmel Mission,
I hope this finds you and your family safe and healthy, and adjusting to the new realities imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic.
So much has changed in the world in recent weeks, and also here at Carmel Mission. We have done much work to develop our communication on our website carmelmission.org to keep our community informed and to draw everyone closer together in these unsettling times.
You will see the layout of our bulletin has changed slightly as we are currently only publishing online. There is very useful information in this bulletin about how to stay connected with our virtual community, including how-to directions on adding our website to the home screen on your phone, how to subscribe to our weekly bulletins emails, which include a link to our streaming mass, and how to reach Fr. Rodrigo and myself directly with your prayer requests and special intentions by emailing us at prayerprequest@carmelmission.org or clicking on the prayer request button on the website.
Just last Sunday, we streamed our first weekend mass. On Monday, we posted my first daily prayer, which will be posted on our website and viewable via YouTube every morning except Sundays at 7:00 am. We were able to speak directly with our ministry leaders this week, and will continue to do so throughout this time. We have also been able to engage our JSS community who have transitioned to distance learning but are staying connected with us through our website. I would ask that everyone visit our website and participate daily in the community we are developing online.
Of course, none of this is possible without your continued support. I ask that you continue your generous support of the Carmel Mission, so we can weather these challenging times and continue to support you and our community. You may contribute electronically via the DONATE button on the website or by mailing your offering to Carmel Mission, 3080 Rio Road, Carmel, CA 93923.
We are still on our Lenten journey, a journey we could hardly have imagined when Lent began. As we near the end of that journey and prepare to accompany our Savior through his Passion, Death, and triumphant Resurrection, I encourage you to turn your eyes, as Jesus did, towards Jerusalem, and journey onward, even into the unknown, with confidence that you will never walk alone.
May God continue to bless and protect you and your loved ones,

Fr. Paul
