Dear Friends of Carmel Mission,
I remember my first visit to the Marian Shrine of Lourdes, France. It was about this time of year and fifty years ago – 1968. I was still in high school and it was my first time to visit another country. I was impressed by the way people brought those who were sick to the Grotto of Massabielle on stretchers and in wheelchairs.
Sick people searching and praying for healing abounded in that sacred place. Many miraculous cures have taken place at Lourdes over the years. I believe that everyone who goes there and prays for healing, receives healing. There is a number of parishioners from Carmel Mission on a pilgrimage to Lourdes at this time.
I have asked them to pray for healing for our beloved Bishop, Richard Garcia, who has been unwell since Easter.
I’m asking you, dear friend of our Mission, to do the same. Please pray for healing for our Bishop, where he most needs it.
