Photography Policy

Capturing Memories at Carmel Mission

We welcome personal photography for visitors who wish to capture their experience at Carmel Mission.

Portrait Photography and Videography:

For portrait photography and videography, including family portraits, holiday photos, engagement photos, maternity photos, and graduation photos, a confirmed written reservation and fee, where applicable, is required at least 48 hours in advance.  Please contact the Mission store to discuss permission and fees.

Image Usage:

Photos taken at Carmel Mission are for personal use only. Publication, sale, reproduction, transfer, distribution, or commercial use of photos taken on the grounds requires prior written approval.

Weddings and Quinceañeras:

Photography is only permitted for weddings taking place at the Mission on the day of the ceremony. Quinceañera photography is not allowed.

Drone Policy:

To ensure a positive and safe experience, the Mission prohibits the use of drones over its private property.

Notice of Filming and Photography:

By entering Carmel Mission, you understand that you may be photographed, filmed, or videotaped, and you authorize Carmel Mission the unqualified right to take pictures and/or recordings of you and grant the perpetual right to take your likeness, image, or photo without compensation for broadcast or use in any medium.
