Pastor’s Weekly Message 4/15/18

Dear Friends of Carmel Mission,

This weekend at Carmel Mission, we are celebrating the 60th Anniversary of our local

Council 4593 of the Knights of Columbus. Our Knights have been involved in helping our parish community in numerous ways, as well as raising funds to assist worthy causes, both near and afar.

Our Knights were instrumental in founding our annual Fiesta, and have always supported our Junipero Serra School, in providing assistance wherever needed, including scholarships to students. In recent years, the Carmel Mission Classic Car event has become a not-to-miss feature on our local calendar.

Once again our Knights have succeeded in developing this event from concept to a truly spectacular show of classic cars. It has become so popular that there is now a waiting-list for those seeking to display their cars! This event raises much-needed funding for our parish ministries and our school.

Each year in March, our Knights organize a delicious St. Patrick’s Day dinner with the tastiest corned beef and cabbage this side of the Cliffs of Moher!

When it comes to breakfast, it’s hard to beat their wonderful Pancake Breakfasts.

The involvement of the Knights has helped our beautiful Mission parish develop and grow

as a vibrant faith community for the past sixty years.

I pray that God will continue to shower His blessings on all the endeavors of our Knights of Columbus. I sincerely thank them for all their selfless Stewardship.

Fr. Paul
