Dear Friends of Carmel Mission,
Happy Founders Feastday! Today, July 1st, is the official Feastday of our founder and first pastor, St. Junipero Serra.
It is a day to rejoice and celebrate. Please come and join us. Our wonderful Choir will be back in action at the 11:00am mass, and will be leading our community in song. Included in the music menu will be our specially commissioned song in honor of St. Junipero, “ Always Forward, Never Back”.
Following the 11:00am mass, we will process from the Basilica to our main Courtyard, and gather around the fountain. There we will form a prayer circle and offer prayers for the healing of our beloved Bishop, Richard Garcia. We will have a special Litany of the Saints, which will include all saints who are patrons of parishes in the Diocese of Monterey.
Our Knights of Columbus will be providing a delicious lunch under the direction of our Grand Chef, Jon Stuefloten. Need I say more?
